The Neutrino Detector sits inside Hydroplant progression, but it should not be played like "one more stop" during a normal Hydroplant loot run. Existing site guidance already identifies the flooded tunnel approach as the primary obstacle, not the detector building itself. That changes how you should plan the route.

A normal Hydroplant session might be about an apartment outpost, a Power Cell, or an Armored Exor harvest. A detector session is about water navigation, orientation, and safe transition into the Voussoir portal route. Those goals do not want the same inventory, the same tempo, or the same risk tolerance.

This page therefore assumes you already understand the larger Hydroplant walkthrough. The purpose here is to make the detector approach reliable enough that it becomes a repeat route instead of a one-time panic swim.

Preparation before the flooded approach

The detector route is often failed before the player ever submerges. The loadout is wrong, the bag is full, the return path is not memorized, or the run starts after a long Hydroplant fight that already damaged the route's margin for error.

Before committing, check the following:

• Bring the gear your current site guidance already treats as necessary for the flooded approach, especially the Diving Suit or equivalent water-safe setup.
• Strip the inventory down to route tools, light recovery, and space for what actually matters after entry.
• Decide whether this trip ends at detector confirmation or continues into Voussoir. Those are not the same objective.
• If possible, create a simple Hydroplant staging point before the swim. A bed, crate, or visual anchor near the last dry safety point is worth more than an extra stack of side loot.

The key idea is that drowning risk and disorientation are route problems, not combat problems. You do not solve them by bringing more random gear.

Stage the Hydroplant side before you enter the water

The best detector runs begin with a short dry-land setup trip. That trip can be very small and still pay off.

1. Re-enter Hydroplant with the goal of confirming the last safe dry anchor before the flooded path.

4. Leave if the dry route itself still feels confusing.

That final step matters. If the player still gets turned around before even starting the swim, the correct action is not to push through faster. It is to repair the land route first so the water route has something stable to attach to.

Swim route logic: commit only when orientation is stable

Existing detector guidance already supports the core shape of the approach: enter the Hydroplant, navigate flooded tunnels toward the northeastern open- water side, surface at the detector building, and then enter to reach the portal.

Respect that hand- off instead of assuming detector success means the whole chain is solved.

The cleanest sequence is:

1. Learn the Hydroplant approach.
2. Confirm the detector building and portal entry.
3. Return with dedicated Voussoir materials if needed.
4. Treat the first true Voussoir visit as reconnaissance, not as a haul run.

That separation protects both halves of the route. The swim remains a solved problem, and the climb becomes its own manageable challenge.

Use a separate extraction mindset for the first successful detector run

One subtle reason players lose progress here is that the first successful detector arrival feels like permission to keep going until something dramatic happens. In practice, the first clean detector run is often most valuable when it ends early. If you surfaced correctly, entered the building, and proved that the route can be repeated, that is already a major unlock. Banking that knowledge and resetting for a dedicated Voussoir session is often stronger than turning the same trip into an overloaded climb attempt with a wet return route still fresh in memory.

Recovery advice for the most common detector failures

• Ran out of orientation underwater. Turn the attempt into a route-mapping session. Repeating the same blind swim is not progress.
• Reached the detector with a full inventory. Bank the route knowledge, not the clutter. Return on a cleaner loadout.
• Tried to combine Armored Exor farming with the detector. Split the goals. Hydroplant punishes hybrid runs.
• Entered Voussoir without save-spot planning. Treat that as a separate prep failure, not as proof the detector route itself was bad.
