Security Level 4 Containment run: yellow-safe keycard extraction
The Level 4 card is an extraction job, not a loot sweep. Enter with full Hazmat Suit, Bio-Acoustic Key, decoys for robots, and an X-Ray Lamp for Leyak pressure. Grab the card and leave.
The Problem
βMy Hazmat Suit melts almost instantly in Containment, then robots camp the body before I can recover anything.β
β‘ Before You Start
π What to Bring
Prerequisites
- Reach deeper Lab Sector routes with Level 3 progress completed.
- Have Containment access planning and Bio-Acoustic Key readiness.
- Carry a working Hazmat Suit or equivalent protection plan.
Recommended Loadout
- Hazmat Suit
- X-Ray Lamp for Leyak pressure
- Decoys, smoke, or tools for robot disengage windows
Common Mistakes
- 1.Treating Containment like a normal farming room and staying until protection fails.
- 2.Trying to recover a corpse under robot pressure without first resetting the threat path.
The Problem
My Hazmat Suit (see armor guide) melts almost instantly in Containment, then robots camp the body before I can recover anything.
The Solution
Containment Block is not a farming (see farming guide) zone. It is an extraction objective β you go in for one specific item, grab it, and leave. Every extra second spent looting side cabinets increases the probability of death. Here is how to run it without feeding the robot death loop.
Mindset: Extraction, Not Exploration The Level 4 yellow-safe keycard is your single objective. Side cabinets contain loot, but you can come back for those after the card is secured and deposited at base. The Containment approach corridor is long β death deep inside means a 5-minute corpse run through hostile territory. Loot is replaceable. The keycard is not optional. Prioritize accordingly.
Protection Checklist (Check Before Entry)
- Hazmat Suit: Durability at 100%. A damaged suit at 50% will fail mid-run. 90% radiation reduction is mandatory β Containment has the highest ambient radiation in the game.
- Bio-Acoustic Key: Required to open the sound-based security door at the Containment Block entrance. Forgetting this means a wasted trip.
- X-Ray Lamp: Leyak pressure is highest in Containment. The X-Ray Lamp drives the Reaper back without consuming ammo.
- Decoys or smoke tools: Heavy robots patrol Containment corridors. Decoys provide a disengage window when a robot locks onto you in a narrow hallway with no cover.
Robot Management Containment robots (Security Bots, heavier variants) patrol fixed routes. They do not chase indefinitely β they return to their patrol path after a disengage window. If a robot locks onto you:
- Throw a decoy in the opposite direction.
- Break line of sight β duck into a side room or behind a pillar.
- Wait for the robot to return to its patrol route.
- Proceed only when the path is clear.
Do not try to fight Containment robots. They have high armor, high damage, and respawn faster than you can clear them. Stealth and disengage tools are your real weapons here.
The Keycard Room The yellow-safe keycard is in a secured room inside Containment Block DIRAC. The whiteboard outside the entrance provides navigation β read it. The room itself is usually guarded. Clear or bypass the immediate guard, grab the keycard from its spawn point (computer desk or wall safe β check both), and turn around. Do not open side cabinets. Do not explore adjacent rooms. Keycard first, extraction immediately.
Keypad Hacker (Tier 4) Deeper Containment routes and Accelerator access require a Tier 4 Keypad Hacker. Unlock method: find and read the email titled "Clean it up!" and view the attachment. Alternatively, talk to Celine Ahmed. Craft the Tier 4 hacker before attempting deep Containment β there is no crafting bench (see Crafting Bench upgrades) inside.
Corpse Recovery Protocol If you die in Containment, do not immediately run back to your corpse. The robot or hazard that killed you is still there, and your health on respawn is not full. Protocol:
- Respawn. Heal to full at your Briefcase (6 HP/sec). Repair Hazmat Suit durability.
- Approach Containment from the safe side β do not re-enter through the same door you died at if an alternative entrance exists.
- Check sightlines before entering the room where you died. If a robot is still patrolling, wait for its rotation gap.
- Grab your corpse loot and leave immediately. Do not punish yourself by trying to "finish what you started" β the corpse recovery IS the objective now.
Step-by-Step
- Check Hazmat Suit durability at 100%. Craft Tier 4 Keypad Hacker if needed. Confirm Bio-Acoustic Key is in inventory.
- Enter Containment Block DIRAC. Read the whiteboard for navigation.
- Move directly toward the yellow-safe keycard room. Ignore side cabinets.
- If a robot locks on: throw decoy β break line of sight β wait for patrol reset β proceed.
- Grab the Level 4 keycard. Verify it is in your inventory.
- Exit immediately through the safest known route. Do not explore. Do not loot cabinets.
- Deposit the keycard at base. Celebrate. Then decide whether optional Containment loot is worth a separate, lower-pressure trip.
Common Mistakes
- Entering Containment with Hazmat Suit at partial durability β it fails mid-run and radiation finishes you.
- Treating Containment as a farming zone β it punishes lingering. Grab the objective and leave.
- Corpse-running back into Containment without healing or repairing gear β the same hazard that killed you is still there.
- Forgetting the Bio-Acoustic Key at base β the sound-based door at the entrance requires it. A wasted trip.
- Trying to fight Containment robots instead of using decoys and disengage windows β they out-armor and out-damage you.
