Every trader location and what they sell: Warren, Blacksmith, Marion, and the rest

Complete trader guide for Abiotic Factor. Every NPC that trades, where to find them, what they buy, what they sell, and which ones are worth building your base next to.

The Problem

“I've been hoarding random items for 10 hours and I have no idea which trader actually wants any of this stuff. Who buys what?”

The Problem

I've been hoarding random items for 10 hours and I have no idea which trader actually wants any of this stuff. Who buys what?

The Solution

There are six traders in Abiotic Factor. Three of them matter for regular gameplay. Two are situational. One is basically just lore. Here is every single one, where they stand, and exactly what they offer.

Warren Bunnings — Office Sector Plaza

Location: Plaza, Office Sector Level 1. Hard to miss — he stands next to a vending machine in the central hub.

What he buys: General scrap, basic electronics, food items What he sells:

ItemCostWorth It?
Basic crafting components (screws, duct tape, plastic)LowYes — saves scavenging trips
Healing items (basic bandages, painkillers)LowIn a pinch
Random food itemsLowOnly if starving
Makeshift Battery componentsLow-MediumSometimes — depends on stock

Verdict: Your first trader. Useful for the first 5 hours until you unlock Manufacturing West. He buys your junk when your inventory is full. After mid-game, you will rarely visit.

The Blacksmith — Manufacturing West, Top of F.O.R.G.E.

Location: Top floor of the F.O.R.G.E. building, Manufacturing West. Take the elevator up.

This is the best trader in the game.

What he buys: Scrap metal, advanced components, weapon parts, armor pieces What he sells:

ItemCostWhy You Want It
Fire Proximity SuitTrade: Air CompressorRequired for Tarasque boss / Mycofields. +3 heat resist.
Advanced weapon componentsMediumHard to farm, easy to buy
Rare crafting materialsVariesRotating stock — check after each portal world run
F.O.R.G.E. armor piecesMedium-HighGood mid-game armor
Weapon modsMediumSituational — check what he has this visit

The Air Compressor trade: The Fire Proximity Suit is obtained by trading an Air Compressor to the Blacksmith. Air Compressor recipe: 1 Canister + 1 Pressure Gauge + 1 Reinforced Hose + 1 Chain. This trade is non-optional for Tarasque. Do it before you reach Containment Block.

Verdict: Build your mid-game base at the top of the F.O.R.G.E. so you are 10 seconds from the Blacksmith. You will trade with him more than all other traders combined.

Marion — Flathill

Location: Flathill portal world. After opening the Manufacturing West door in Flathill, find Marion near the central area.

What she buys: Porcelain items, Organs, rare anomalous materials What she sells / trades:

ItemTrade Requirement
Porcelain KeyTrade: 1x Symphonist Head
Fog LanternsPorcelain Key (opens Cacophonous Crates)
OrgansPorcelain Key (opens Cacophonous Crates)
Additional Porcelain ShardsPorcelain Key (opens Cacophonous Crates)

Verdict: The only source of Porcelain Keys. Essential if you are crafting Maestro armor. If not, she is skip-able.

The Chef — Office Sector Cafeteria (Conditional)

Location: Cafeteria kitchen, Office Sector. Spawns after you reach Cooking Level 3.

What he buys: Cooked food, rare ingredients What he sells:

ItemCost
Cooking ingredients (salt, spices, flour)Low
Recipe scrolls for advanced soupsMedium
Chef's Counter componentsHigh

Verdict: If you are farming soups for buffs, he is useful. Everyone else can ignore him.

The Night Trader — Night Realm

Location: Night Realm portal world. Appears only during the "night" cycle within the realm. Look for a cloaked figure near the central structure.

What he buys: Night Essence, Phantom-related items What he sells:

ItemCost
Night Essence (buy, not sell — he is the source)Medium
X-Ray-related componentsMedium-High
Carbon Battery componentsHigh

Verdict: Only useful if you are farming Night Essence extensively. Most players visit the Night Realm for progression, not trading.

The Janitor — Cascade Labs (Lore)

Location: Cascade Labs, lower levels.

Barely a trader. Exchanges dialogue more than items. Has one or two unique crafting components but nothing you cannot find elsewhere.

Verdict: Talk to him once for the dialogue. Not a real trading destination.

Proximity Strategy

Your main base location should optimize for trader access:

  • Early game: Cafeteria → close to Warren
  • Mid game: Top of F.O.R.G.E. → Blacksmith is next door
  • Late game: Wildlife Pens → tram network connects to all traders within 2-3 minutes

Don't build a base specifically for Marion or the Chef. They are visit-once-and-done traders.
